Java Version for GeorgiaVIEW Vista

GeorgiaVIEW Vista uses Java extensively for many tools and features. If you do not have the correct version of Java installed on your computer, some features may not work as expected.

Important: The main Java website download page provides the latest version which is not supported by GeorgiaVIEW Vista!

Once you have the correct version of Java, TURN OFF automatic updates

Turn off Java's automatic updates

To prevent future Java updates from automatically installing themselves (and possibly leading to problems with tools using Java in GeorgiaVIEW Vista) on your computer, do the following:

Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7

  1. Click Start
  2. Click Control Panel
  3. Click Java
  4. Click the Update tab
  5. Uncheck the box beside Checkfor Updates Automatically
  6. A warning window will appear. Click on the Never Check button.
  7. Click OK.

Mac OS X

Go to Apple's website and follow the steps to make the Java update "inactive":
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106705 .
