We are now Georgia Health Sciences University.

Welcome to the Southeastern Primary Care Consortium/Atlanta Area Health Education Center ( SPCC Atlanta AHEC).

My goal as the Preceptor Coordinator for this area is to help you gain fulfilling educational experiences by providing community-based learning opportunities and clinical experiences within the urban underserved communities of metro Atlanta.  Community-based training will give you a unique opportunity to experience health care in a real world setting and interact one-on-one with your community based preceptor and patients.  Current research has shown that health care professions students who have participated in these experiences have a better understanding of the complex needs of underserved communities.

The SPCC Atlanta AHEC is a non-profit regional health education center, based in Atlanta, Georgia.  Our mission is to increase the supply, distribution and education of health professionals in Georgia.

Counties served by the SPCC Atlanta AHEC:  Clayton, Dekalb and Fulton.
The SPCC Atlanta AHEC is pleased to be able to offer benefits to students training within one of the counties within our service area.  Some of the benefits offered are housing, travel assistance and OVID access.  Please contact our office for full information on all of our services.  In order to receive any of the benefits listed, you must complete and return an AHEC student support form.

On behalf of the SPCC Atlanta AHEC staff, welcome and we hope you enjoy your time spent in northeast Georgia!  We look forward to working with you.

Bobby

Sincerely,
