The Beta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International was funded through the Leilee P. Ault Research Fund in 1996 to support nursing research activities. Ms. Ault was a founding member and served as the first Beta Omicron president. She was dedicated during her many years at the Georgia Health Sciences University College of Nursing to mentoring students and faculty in achieving high levels of nursing scholarship. Members and officers solicit and welcome donations to the Leilee P. Ault fund to help achieve our noble mission.
Beta Omicron hosts two nursing scholar sessions a year and invites nationally known nurse leaders to speak at these and other chapter functions. Sessions are open to other nurses, health care professionals and interested community members. The chapter also provides assistance for members to conduct their research and present the findings at national research conferences.
Membership is an opportunity to provide service to the profession. Members are invited to work through local chapters to meet the purposes of Sigma Theta Tau and to foster their own professional development.

Message from the President

Welcome to the website of the Beta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.

The members of Beta Omicron and other local chapters are the heart of an exciting and dynamic nursing organization whose mission is to support the learning, knowledge and professional development of nurses who are committed to making a difference in health worldwide. To that end, we plan and support local, regional, national, and international programs that will captivate nursing leaders who strive to develop and share the excellence within.

The Beta Omicron Chapter seeks member involvement and has many opportunities for members to showcase their talents and abilities. Membership is offered during baccalaureate or graduate nursing programs as a result of superior academic performance, however not all schools of nursing have a chapter. Nursing professionals not previously inducted as nursing students and not currently enrolled in a nursing program also can join STTI as a nurse leader.

Beta Omicron President, Siera Gollan
