Our Facilities

The Interdisciplinary Simulation Center is centrally located on the GHSU campus and occupies the second floor of the Jennings Building (see 2E on the GHSU Campus Map).  The center is comprised of 8,400 square feet and 22 simulation-associated rooms.  Each room is equipped to make the simulation realistic.  The center has the capability to operate two Operating Rooms, six Medical-Surgical Rooms, two Pediatric Rooms, a Labor and Delivery Suite, a Neonatal Intensive Care Room, and a 2-room Home Health Suite. Our Services

The Interdisciplinary Center provides students, faculty and health care professionals with realistic opportunities to train, educate, advance skills, and facilitate research endeavors.  Services currently provided include, but not limited to:

 

.    College of Nursing undergraduate and graduate curriculum enhancements and course integration

.    School of Medicine curriculum enhancement for physiological responses

.    School of Allied Health curriculum enhancement for Physical Therapy assessment/examination

.    School of Dentistry critical event training and conscious sedation continuing education classes

 

Hours of Operation: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Classes and sessions can be scheduled outside of normal operating hours with prior approval.  All simulation time is scheduled in advance.    A less than 24 hours cancellation of a scheduled event will result in a $50 charge.   Usage Fees:

Fees will be negotiated depending upon program offering.   

For internal clients (GHSU and MCGHI), a completed IDR should be submitted on or before the day simulation services are provided. 

 

For external clients, a completed Memorandum of Understanding must be submitted before simulation

services are planned or provided.

Additional Charges:

Continuous Contracts and Total Continuing Education Simulation Hours are negotiated on a contractual basis.

All simulation activities/sessions will involve active planning and development with center personnel prior to the scheduled simulation time in order to ensure that educational objectives are set and obtainable.
