Training and Education

"All personnel involved with the care and use of animals must be adequately educated, trained, and/or qualified in basic principles of laboratory animal science to help ensure high-quality science and animal well-being."¹

There are continuous efforts to provide the comprehensive and up-to-date training opportunities for both the LAS staff and GHSU research community.  LAS has highly qualified staff that provide oversight in the facilities and training support to all Division and GHSU staff.  The training program provided by LAS contains both classroom and practical instruction.  Training opportunities range from continuing education for the Animal Care staff to personalized training for individual PI labs.
